A group of more than 2,000 (and growing) like-minded people are doing a 60-hour water fast and ketone cleanse starting Sunday, May 14 at 9:00 p.m. through Wednesday, May 16 at 9:00 a.m. Other fasts will start roughly every 4-6 weeks.

Go to this Facebook support group if you are interested in joining the fast or one in the future. You can start yours at any time. There is already plenty of posts, videos and support on the page.
There is no cost for support or to join the group, but you will need about 8-10 packs of KETO//OS MAX (Maui Punch or Swiss Cacao flavors) during the fast.

My 60-Hour Fast Journal and Experiences
This is where I’ll document my experiences and results from the 60-hour water fast and ketone cleanse. I’m doing the fast mostly to see if I can do it, but also to see how my body and digestive system react. I definitely want to detox and reset my system to see how I feel, and to see if my cravings change.

Sunday, May 14
9:00 p.m. (0 hours): I ate my last meat a little after 8:00 p.m. – boneless ribs, cooked kale and raw carrots. My last meal for 60 hours! I’ll drink some more water before going to bed, to stay hydrated throughout the night. I’m not sure if I’ll work out in the morning, but might do a light run to help deplete glucose. I plan on drinking around 80 to 100 oz of water per day, including drinking three servings of KETO//OS MAX.
I’ve gone a little more than 24 hours without eating before, so I’m not too nervous about day 1. I’m mostly nervous about coming out of the fast. I leave for California Friday morning, so I definitely want to come out of the fast the right way. Plan to take it very easy on Wednesday to ease back into meals.
Monday, May 15
9:30 a.m. (12.5 hours): The great thing about starting a fast at 9:00 p.m. is that you’re asleep for most of the first 12 hours! I just posted a video on my Facebook page here just to kick things off. I just had my first serving of KETO//OS MAX and now I’m about to go run. I’m not sure if I’ll work out tomorrow. I’ll just see how I feel.
So, it’s nothing by water and ketones for the next two days. I’m interested to see what my body’s going to do. My wife is doing this with me, and she already texted me that she’s hungry!
1:00 p.m. (16 hours): I just had my second KETO//OS MAX. I made a smoothie just blending it with water and ice. I ran for about 30 minutes this morning, not pushing it too much. I’ve had about 48 oz. of water so far.
I feel fine so far. I was a little tired earlier, which could be from not drinking coffee, which my wife and I do every morning. We also add turmeric, macca powder, coconut sugar, cacao, collagen, coconut oil and organic cinnamon. So, it does give a good boost!
8:25 p.m. (23.5 hours): So almost 24 hours in! About three hours ago I started to get that dull detox headache. It’s not fun, but it happens. Other than that, I feel fine. The hunger I got in the afternoon is gone. I feel less stiff and a lot “cleaner.” I had by third serving of KETO//OS MAX at about 6:00. One more “day” to go!
Tomorrow is going to be really interesting. Stay tuned!
Tuesday. May 16
9:00 p.m. (36 hours): So, 36 hours in! I’m drinking my first serving of KETO//OS MAX now. Last night I threw up some water a little before 9:00, which apparently can be very normal on a fast as your body is detoxing. The dull headache got worse right before that, and it was just like what I’ve heard and read about when people are doing a fast.
I went to bed early and slept just fine. No headache at all this morning. I do feel a little low on energy which is expected, but I also feel less stiff, lighter and cleaner. If I feel like this the rest of today, I’ll be fine.
3:00 p.m. (42 hours): Home stretch! I’m definitely doing better than yesterday. I feel great even though my energy is a little low. I had a ketone smoothie (KETO//OS MAX, water and crushed ice blended) about 1:00 p.m. The headache hasn’t returned at all. I didn’t work out today; just went for a walk.
I haven’t been very hungry today. Food does “sound good,” but I don’t feel too hungry. I do feel light, flexible, and no physical discomfort. My energy is hard to explain. It’s like a calm, balanced, easy energy. I don’t feel “off” at all. I’ve felt like this before taking ketones, but never figured I’d feel like this after not eating for two days
9:00 p.m. (48 hours): WOW! 48 hours without food and I feel fine. I finished my third serving of ketones for the day at about 8:15. I feel like I could go outside and run. The ketones definitely helped a ton today, more so than even yesterday. Today was easier than yesterday.
I had some lower energy levels earlier, but I actually felt better as the day went on. I’m not any hungrier than I was early this morning. Some people are taking this fast to 80 hours, but I do plan on eating some eggs in the morning. Check back in the morning to see how my stomach and body handle food for the first time in 60 hours. I’m also really interested to see how this affects my cravings and overall eating habits.
9:00 a.m. (60 hours): 60 HOURS!! I made it! Nothing but water and ketones the past 60 hours. No food. No caffeine. No sugar. Theo only calories consumed were from the ketones (about 40 calories per serving). So, yesterday was definitely the easier day. I was dragging a little today, but ate the best-tasting scrambled eggs in my life a little after 9:00 a.m. Read below for my wrap-up thoughts and experiences, including a video.
Final Water Fast and Ketone Cleanse Results
I’m definitely glad I did this 60-hour water fast and ketone cleanse. It was easier than I thought it would be. I felt clean, calm and balanced. I was hungry at times, but not to the point that I couldn’t handle it.
You learn a lot about your body and the way you think about food. Your body is going to take care of itself. It has plenty of stored energy. Once you deplete the glycogen, your body is going to turn to your fat storage for energy.
Fasting With Ketones
The ketones helped a TON. Your body prefers them as an energy source over glucose anyway. I don’t know if I would have made it without them. I did three servings on Monday and three on Tuesday. They help provide energy, mental clarity and help protect and preserve muscle, which may be the most important benefit while fasting.
Some people are taking this fast to 84 hours. I might attempt that next time, but I just wanted to see what 60-hours was like. I’m also interested to see what happens and how I feel the next few days. Fasting is a great way to rest and reset your digestive system. I definitely needed that. Hopefully it will help me be more conscious about what I eat. I generally am, but I can overdo it sometimes.
I lost about 3 pounds, but weight loss wasn’t my goal. Although, this fast could certainly help with weight loss down the road if eating habits change. So much of it is in your head. More than anything, this taught me how eating food can often be more of a habit than a necessity to fuel your body.
